Interactive Meeting with Principal Chief GST Commissioner (Vadodara Zone) on 15.1.2021

An Interactive Meeting was held on 15th February 2021 at GST Bhavan, Vapi under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Principal Chief Commissioner (Vadodara Zone), Shri Ashok Mehta IRS in the presence of Shri Vikram Wani IRS, Commissioner, CGST, Daman, Shri V. Pandit IRS, Addl. Commissioner and Shri Amarnath Kesari IRS, Addl. Commissioner, Shri Hemant Pant, Member, GST Committee, VIA, Shri Pankaj Shukla, Member, GST Committee, VIA, representatives of Daman Industries Association, Federation of Industries Association of DNH, Vapi Chemists & Druggists Association, CA Institute of Vapi and corporate members of Vapi.
First and foremost the Principal Chief Commissioner welcomed all the representatives from various Industries Associations and Corporate members. He then expressed that GST department is always having very cordial relation with Industries & Trade Members and wishes to continue doing so and extend the utmost support & help to all. He said in case of any clarification or doubt or excess overreach by any officers of the department the Industries & Trade Members may always contact him directly on +91 98180 99199 to get the issue resolved amicably. Thereafter following matters were informed and discussed :
The GST Commissionerate will also be setting up Sarvottam – Taxpayers Lounge in a short while at GST Bhavan for assisting the GST payers.
GST Commissionerate has also developed a Mobile App – IRIS Peridot which can be downloaded for free. The Mobile App provides immediate information regarding filing of GST Returns, Status of GST No. etc. once any GST No. is entered.
A team from GST Commissionerate will frequently organize trade and department meetings, either though web mode or physical mode (in small groups) for training for new updates and removal of doubts in GST.
The present representatives from Industries Associations then represented out about certain incidents that took place recently where Industries & Trade Members were harassed by GST Officials during search activity at their premises and requested the Principal Chief Commissioner to take immediate action to prevent such untoward incidents in the future.
Trade representatives also complemented the Commissionerate for their co-operation extended during UTs merger.
