Webinar – Environment Clinis on Winter Action Plan for Controlling Air Pollution on 21.10.2020

Vapi Industries Association (VIA), jointly with Gujarat Pollution Control Board(GPCB), Sarigam Industries Association(SIA) and Vapi Green Enviro Ltd. (VGEL) has organized a Webinar – Environment Clinic on Winter Action Plan – Air Pollution Control During Winter Season on 21st October 2020 under the advice of Shri B R Gajjar, Regional Officer, GPCB, Vapi. The webinar was held in the presence of Shri Prakash Bhadra, President, VIA, Shri Satish Patel, Hon. Secretary, VIA, Shri Kalpesh Vora, Chairman – Green Society, VIA, Shri V D Sivdasan, President, Sarigam Industries Association (SIA), Shri Kaushik Patel, Ex. Hon. Secretary, SIA and the key note speaker of the Environment Clinic Shri Haresh M Ganvit, Senior Scientific Officer – Lab Head, GPCB, Vapi. The Environment Clinic was well attended by over 50 Industries Members and their employees. Shri Prakashbhai during his welcome speech welcomed all the present and said that the presentation of Shri Ganvit to be given during the session will be of extreme importance for the Industries Members and help them in complying the Winter Action Plan for Controlling the Air Pollution. He also said that considerable amount of Air Pollution is done due to the Vehicular Traffic and due to burning of scraps by the scrap dealers. Shri Ganvint thereafter requested the present to control the air pollution caused by gaseous emission at the source itself as he said that due to low temperature in the Winter Season such elements remains in the lower atmosphere causing increase in Air Pollution. He also said that Industries Members who are using Boilers need to do regular scrubbing activities and cleaning of bag filters regularly to control the emission. He further emphasized that this efforts are necessary to reduce the CEPI Index Score. Shri Sivdasan also said that these suggestions will also be of extreme help for the Industries Members of SIA.
