World Ozone Day Celebration on 13th September 2024

In the year 1994 United Nations’ General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 16th September as the World Ozone Day. World Ozone Day thereafter celebrated every year on 16th September to create awareness for preserving the Ozone Layer in the Atmosphere. Vapi Industries Association (VIA) is also celebrating World Ozone Day every year as part of its initiative to create awareness for environment protection and upliftment. This year, 16th September being a public holiday in the country, the World Ozone Day was celebrated on by VIA in association with Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), Vapi Green Enviro Ltd. (VGEL) and Aarti Industries Ltd., on 13th September 2024, Friday. The World Ozone Day Celebration started at VIA 2nd Floor Conference Hall with Shri Kalpeshbhai Vora, Hon. Secretary, VIA explaining the need of protecting the Ozone Layer in the Atmosphere while delivering the welcome address. Shri A G Patel, Regional Officer, GPCB, Vapi then informed the present about the activities planned as part of the World Ozone Day Celebration 2024 thereafter Shri Vivek Trivedi, Environment Officer, GPCB, Vapi requested all the present and made them take a pledge to avoid using products and techniques which helps in depleting Ozone, he also requested all the Industries Members to take corrective measures and adopt environment friendly process to avoid Ozone depletion. Then Shri Shankar Karhale, Corporate Environment & Sustainability Head, Aarti Industries Ltd. gave a brief presentation on the necessity of Ozone Layer, the adverse effect which may cause in case of destruction of Ozone Layer in the Atmosphere and the ways & means to prevent Ozone Layer damage. World Ozone Day celebration program thereafter continued by Tree Plantation at Salvav, Vapi and CETP, Vapi. The World Ozone Day celebration program was attended by Shri Maganbhai Savalia, Vice President, VIA, Shri Rajulbhai Shah, Treasurer, VIA, Shri Chandreshbhai Maru, Jt. Secretary, VIA, Shri Kamleshbhai Patel, Ex Officio, VIA, Shri Suresh Patel, Director, VGEL, Shri Jatin Mehta, CEO, VGEL, many of the Industries Members and Staff Members of VGEL.
