Meeting with Regional Municipal Commissioner, Surat for Exploring Scope of Consuming Treated Water of STP of Vapi Nagarpalika 12.7.2023

Vapi Industries Association (VIA) in it’s continued effort for a better environment promotes and encourages Industries Members to adopt processes to reuse and recycle for conservation of invaluable natural resources. To further encourage these initiative a meeting has been organized today at VIA 1st Floor Conference Hall jointly with Vapi Nagarpalika under the Chairmanship of Dr. D D Kapadia IAS, Regional Commissioner of Municipalities, Surat to interact with the Industries Members of Vapi Industrial Estate to understand the possibility of consuming the treated water of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) of Vapi Nagarpalika. Dr. Kapadia during the meeting emphasized on the recent order issued by the Hon’ble National Green Tribunal (NGT) insisting the Industries Members to reduce the consumption of Natural Resources by adopting recycle processes. He then said that Vapi Nagarpalika is presently having a Sewage Treatment Plant with a capacity of 14 MLD and after the secondary treatment it discharges 8 MLD of treated water, further Vapi Nagarpalika is in the process of establishing another STP of 22 MLD capacity, this will enable Vapi Nagarpalika to provide huge volume of treated water to the industries members of Vapi Industrial Estate and he also assured to provide the necessary network system to supply to provide the treated water at the industries. The industries members appreciated the proposal of Dr. Kapadia and requested him to do the necessary comparison of the treated water with the water supplied by Notified Area Authority, Vapi presently to determine and compare various chemical and biological parameters present in the treated water which will help that industries to understand the possibility to consume such treated water. The meeting was held in the presence of Shri K S Babul GAS, Executive Engineer, RCM, Surat, Shri R S Bhusara, Executive Engineer, GWSSB, Smt. Kashmiraben Shah, President, Vapi Nagarpalika, Shri Maganbhai Savalia, Vice President, VIA, Shri Kalpeshbhai Vora, Hon. Secretary, VIA, Shri Rajulbhai Shah, Treasurer, VIA, Shri Kamleshbhai Patel, Immediate Past President, VIA, Executive Committee Members of VIA like, Shri Sanjay Savani, Shri Kantibhai Gogdani, Shri Hemang Naik, Shri Shailendra Vispute, Shri Suresh Patel, Shri Madhukar Joshua, Shri Nitin Oza, Shri Riken Tandel, Shri Mitesh Desai, Chairman – Standing Committee, Vapi Nagarpalika and Executive Committee Member, VIA. The meeting was turned out to be very fruitful and ended with a positive note.
