Meeting with DRM & DCM of Western Railways on 28.7.2020

A meeting was held at VIA 1st Floor Conference Hall on 28th July 2020 in presence of Shri G V L Satya Kumar IRTS, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Western Railways, Smt. Jagruti Singhla IRTS, Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Western Railways, Shri Pradip R Ahire, Dy. Station Superintendent, Vapi, Shri Prakash Bhadra, President, VIA, Shri Sunil Agarwal, Vice President, VIA, Shri Satish Patel, Hon. Secretary, VIA, Shri V R Patel, President, Vapi Nagarpalika, Shri Joy Kothari, Member, DRUCC, Shri Lalit Garg, EC Member VIA & Secretary, GPMA, Shri Kaushik Patel, EC Member, VIA and representatives of Sarigam Industries Association and Silvassa Industries Association. During the meeting Shri G V L Satya Kumar explained the initiatives taken by the Indian Railways to introduce freight corridor to increase the volume of railway freight transportation from this region. He said that Western Railways is willing to offer special package and single window service for goods transportation to Industries or Industries Sectors for bulk volume. The representatives from Gujarat Paper Mills Association expressed to offer very good volume for transportation if they get competitive offer compared to road transportation, similarly Shri Prakash Bhadra, President, VIA also expressed that considerable volume of transportation of materials of Pharma and Chemical Industries of the estate may be shifted to Railway Freight Services provided Railways becomes competitive to Road Transportation and he requested Shri G V L Satya Kumar to start trial run of the service for this Industrial Cluster to generate confidence of the Industries Members. He also assured that goods movement data may be provided the Industries Associations for preparation of special packages by railways and inresponse Shri G V L Satya Kumar assured to remain proactive and prompt to offer attractive package for Industries Members of this region as he sees considerable scope of business from this region.
