Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyaan on 2.10.2019

Vapi Industries Association (VIA) has always remained proactive for up-keeping the mother earth through various activities which eventually offers a better living to the mankind. This time following the footsteps of our Hon’ble Prime Minister and on the 150th birth anniversary of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhiji, VIA in association with GPCB, GIDC, NAA and VGEL is launching the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyaan on 2nd October 2019, Wednesday. Various activities were exercised during the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyaan for the betterment of the environment, society and mankind. Gandhi Global Solar Yatra Project is to create awareness for generation and usage of Renewable Energy to save natural resources and reduce generation of waste. Last year on 2nd October 2018, 1 crore 32 lacs students across the country took pledge to join the project and out it 5000 from IIT Mumbai only took part and taken the pledge. Gandhi Global Solar Yatra was launched at Vidya Vikas Hindi School, Vapi and at Chanod Primary School with the initiative of Jay Chemicals during the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyaan on 2nd October 2019. After the launch of the project dustbins were distributed to the school by the stakeholders during the program. M/s Jay Chemicals has initiated the launch of Gandhi Global Solar Yatra at Vapi through various schools to make the students aware about the use and advantage of renewable energy. On the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyaan they have arranged an awareness session for children at their factory premises. Secretary, VIA, Shri Hemang Naik, Jt. Secretary, VIA, Shri Kamlesh Patel, Jt. Chairman, Green Society, VIA, Shri B R Gajjar, Regional Officer, GPCB, Vapi, Shri A C Patel, Chief Officer, Notified Area Authority, Vapi, Shri R Gananasegaran, CEO, VGEL, Shri Rajendra Chechani, CFO, VGEL was present in the event and took pledge along with the children to use renewable energy wherever possible. Single use plastic is getting banned across the country from 2nd October 2019 on the occasion of 150th Anniversary of father of the Nation – Mahatma Gandhi ji. VIA along with GPCB, GIDC, NAA and VGEL also took the initiative to for the same and launched Bring Your Own Bags campaign under Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyaan and distributed Cloth Bags to the shoppers near Low Price, Gunjan, GIDC, Vapi.
