Shri Kanubhai Desai, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Finance, Energy & Petrochemicals, Govt. of Gujarat along with Shri Mukeshbhai Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State for Forest, Environment & Climate Change and Water Supply & Water Resources, Govt. of Gujarat during their visit to Vapi Industrial Estate visited Muktidham and the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) on 12th October 2023. They were accompanied by Shri Satishbhai Patel, President, VIA, Shri Maganbhai Savalia, Vice President, VIA, Shri Kalpeshbhai Vora, Hon. Secretary, VIA, Shri Yogeshbhai Kabaria, Advisory Board Member, VIA, Shri Hemantbhai Patel, Chairman, Notified Area Governing Board, Vapi, Shri Sunilbhai Agarwal, President, Gujarat Paper Mills Association, Shri Gautambhai Shah, President, Morai Industries Association, Shri Hemantbhai Kansara, President, BJP – Valsad, Shri Shipesh Desai, Secretary, BJP – Valsad During their visit to Muktidham the trustees and the working committee members explained them about the environment friendly process of cremation adopted by Muktidham, which is offered to the people of this region completely free of cost. Since the inception of Muktidham in the year 2017 total 5056 numbers of bodies has been cremated saving 10,11,200 KGs of wood by using eco friendly process. During the visit of CETP, Vapi the Directors explained that this CETP is presently one of the largest CETP of the country and treating 55 MLD of Semi Treated Waste of Industries Members received through Underground Drainage Line and after further treatment at CETP the treated & neutralized water is discharged at the estuary zone of Damanganga River. Thereafter an Interactive Meeting was held at the Conference Hall of CETP, Vapi with the Stakeholders of Vapi Industrial Estate, Officers of GIDC and Notified Area Authority (NAA), Vapi and various Infrastructural and Environmental Works & Projects of the Estate were discussed.
